Introducing...
Susan Fullerton, Director
Having been a charity CEO for almost 12 years, I felt it was time to move on and plan my next steps. I reflect on my experience with huge appreciation for the learning I have been privileged to gain across my roles - both paid and voluntary. I will always think highly of the organisation, the team, the young people and families who have trusted in me, taught me and grown with me. I will forever be proud of my time in this role.
I have been involved in the 3rd Sector since 2002, 17 of these years have been in leadership positions, including as Registered Manager of a service. I have worked at a local level and supported growth into a regional delivery model across 3 local authorities. I have experience in a national development position working across the whole of Scotland, which included having the opportunity to spend time in our beautiful Highlands and Islands. The majority of my experience has been with disabled children, young people and adults, in addition to working alongside many parents and carers. I have around 12 years experience sitting on boards as a trustee/director, taking on the treasurer, vice-chair and chair role at points in time.
My experience spans;
-
Funding (grant funding, commissioning, tenders, sustainability, budgets)
-
Organisation development (strategy, policy design, change management, monitoring risk, service redesign, business continuity, asset transfers)
-
Consultation (engagement with stakeholders, research, report compilation, monitoring and evaluation)
-
Quality Improvement (troubleshooting, service audits, improvement planning)
-
Project Management
-
Board Development (training, skills analysis, recruitment, advisory support)
-
Training (bespoke, team building and development)
-
Mentoring (for leaders)

I am excited to see how things develop for Values Connect over the months and years to come.
